Easy by Tammara Webber

I've been seeing this book a lot lately, so yesterday I decided to try it out. I expected this to be another boring book with an annoying female character and a typical hot guy as the hero, but the book totally surprised me.

Jacqueline followed her high school boyfriend to the same college. She was supposed to go to a college like Oberlin. Her boyfriend began calling her "Jackie" when they were dating and that name stuck. However, her boyfriend suddenly dumps her two months into their sophomore year. Now Jacqueline realizes that she's currently going to a school that she never wanted to go to in the first place and that she's failing a class for the first time in her life. What a wake up call!

Then, she was the designated driver for the night but her friend Erin changes plans and decides to stay with her boyfriend for the night. Jacqueline is suddenly attacked by her ex-boyfriend's frat brother, but Lucas saves her from being raped. He beats up Buck and helps drive her to safety. Jacqueline thought she had never seen the guy before, but it turns out, Lucas sits at the back row in one of her classes. The class that she's currently failing because she's been avoiding her ex.

Her friends then decide that Lucas is the perfect rebound guy. Why not? He's a bad boy, he's hot, and he's definitely got the hots for her. Jacqueline begins playing hard-to-get and it turns out that Lucas is definitely not who they thought he was. He's got a lot of secrets and a troubled past.
Good thing she has her friend Erin to have her back. Erin helps Jacqueline by signing them both up for self-defense classes and by just being her friend. Even if Erin is one of the sorority girls and Jacqueline isn't, she's still a great friend.

I thought the book was great. It was definitely not what I expected. Lucas and Jacqueline are both great characters. Jacqueline matured in the book and I thought she handled her break up well. She wasn't whiny or crying every 15 minutes which was good. Lucas is a complex character, which is a good thing. The book did surprise me with some events but then the others were predictable.

The verdict: Read the book! If you're a fan of Romance and YA books, then you'll definitely love this! It covers more than just college romance, it has issues such as rape and should you tell or just let people cover it up to save a fraternity.
