Dire Needs by Stephanie Tyler

I've heard mixed reviews about this book. It was rated 3.53/5 stars on goodreads.com and after reading it, I understand why. The book is in third person POV and it randomly changes from following the main characters to following the enemy to following another clan member, etc.

I thought the book was okay, because it is an introduction to the new series Eternal Wolf Clan. The book is about the "king" / main alpha of the Dire Wolves (they're all pretty much alphas but he was chosen to lead them). Rifter's instincts (Brother Wolf) lead him to Gwen. He meets her at a bar that serves both weres and humans. Gwen thinks she's dying, or is she? Rifter is instantly drawn to Gwen, but he doesn't understand why. He usually doesn't hang around humans because Dires are very powerful and Dires are supposed to protect humans.

The other Dires don't understand why Rifter is drawn to Gwen. However, an old packmate comes back and he is definitely not welcome. As Rifter tries to figure out how to stop their enemies and how to save the Dires, Gwen has to survive her condition and help the Dires any way she can.

The series has a lot of potential, but there were a lot of things going on already in the first book. Hopefully the series will get better after this, but Dire Needs wasn't so bad. I actually finished the book without forcing myself to finish reading it.
The next book in the series is Dire Wants and it's releasing on November 6
