Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

Finally! I've been waiting to read this book since it first released on Oct. 23. At first, I was very hesitant to read this because of it's synopsis. I don't know why but I've never liked books where one of the main character was dead or kinda dead but can still come back to life. I haven't read a book where they did a really good job keeping readers interested and not bored with the character's journey back to life.
However, I've been a fan of this series since I first saw Beautiful Creatures, so I gave it a try. I also wanted closure with this series, and since this is the final novel in this awesome series, I definitely wanted to read it.

Ethan's journey back to life was long, but it was interesting and it did not bore me. I thought that the authors did a really good job with the whole idea about Ethan still having a chance to come back even though he sacrificed his life to save the world. This novel brought a whole new side to Ethan that I haven't really seen before. I felt like he really wanted to come back for Lena, Amma, and his dad. His reunion with his mother was very emotional, but what made me cry was his encounters with Amma.
Lena's POV was shorter than Ethan's, but at least we also had the chance to see things from Lena's POV. She did everything she could to help Ethan come back and she never gave up even when pretty much everyone around her didn't believe that Ethan had a chance to come back.

The only negative thing I had with this book was its ending. I felt that the ending was a little rushed and that they should've taken more time with the ending because this isn't just an ending for this book, it's an ending for the series. I don't want to give so much away and spoil it for those who haven't read it yet.

Overall, the book was awesome and bittersweet at the same time. I can't believe one of my favorite series just ended. I was secretly hoping that they would go for at least 5 books. Anyways, I hope they'll make a spinoff series featuring Link and Ridley. That would be awesome. Or with Liv and John. :)

Update

Hey guys!

Sorry about the lack of reviews/posts lately. I've been busy catching up with stuff and I'm definitely trying to post as much as I can!

Next up on my list of books to read is The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa, which I'm very excited about reading. I got an ARC copy so hopefully I can get a review up soon (depending on the rules of the publisher, I might have to wait until the release date).

Anyways, in book news, October 23 is coming up! Probably the most awesome day of the year 2012. To name a few, Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl, Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick, and The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa are all releasing that day!

Other notable October releases are: October 2, Reflected in You by Sylvia Day, Mortal Ties by Eileen Wilks, Poison Princess by Kresley Cole, and Phantom Shadows by Dianne Duvall.

Definitely can't wait for these books to release and I'll post any updates for you guys! I also want to remind you guys that I have another blog http://bookreviewbuddy.blogspot.com/ just in case you can't access my tumblr page. If you have any questions/suggestions/books for me to review, feel free to contact me. I believe my email is on my tumblr page. If you guys also need any books to read just ask and I'll try and suggest some books to read.

Year's almost over but I feel like September has been going by real slowly. However, this is usually the time of the year where many good books are releasing so get ready!

So, anyways, I'll end this post by saying I hope you guys have a great Tuesday! :)

Caster Chronicles series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

I started reading this series when it was first released on Dec. 1, 2009. I admit that I only read the book because I was intrigued by its cover (Yeah, yeah never judge a book by its cover). Anyways, the series brings about new ideas and a whole new world. A world filled with Casters.
Ethan Wate is the main protagonist in the story and the series is in his POV so far… (there might be a change soon). He has been counting the days until he can finally leave his town Gatlin. However, Ethan’s been dreaming about a girl he has never met…and no, it’s not that kind of dream… His mother died and his father has never been the same since. He’s locked himself in his office trying to write and pretty much dead to the world. Ethan’s best friend is Link and they’re always together.
Lena Duchannes is the new girl in town. She just moved in to the Ravenwood plantation… the scariest house in town. No one ever goes there, but they always talk about the owner, Macon. Lena is instantly hated by most of her classmates (the popular ones) and she’s struggling to control her powers. Then suddenly, Ethan is forced to choose: be a part of Lena’s world or stay in his world.
Will Ethan and Lena be able to stay together?
There are currently 3 books in the series: Beautiful Creatures, Beautiful Darkness, and Beautiful Chaos.
There’s a short story between books 2 & 3 called Dream Dark (Link’s POV).
The next and possibly last book in the series is Beautiful Redemption and it’s not releasing until October 23, 2012.
