Her Vampire Husband by Michele Hauf
Her Vampire Husband by Michele Hauf is a fun and easy read. If you’re ever bored and feel like sitting in and reading, then this is a book you’d want to consider. This is supposed to be the 3rd book in her Wicked Games series, but you don’t have to read her series. This book can be read by itself.
Creed and Blu must marry so that vampires and werewolves will finally be at peace. Blu’s father forced her to marry Creed, but it turns out that it wasn’t for peace after all… Creed Saint-Pierre is a powerful vampire lord who has never fallen in love. He has hated werewolves all his life and now he must marry a werewolf so that his kind will find peace. Creed has never seen a female werewolf before because they are very rare among werewolves, but when he saw Blu… she exceeded his expectations.
Blu hates vampires. They smelled bad and they thought that they were better than everyone. Now her father is forcing her to leave her lover so that she can marry a bloodsucker. Blu may act all tough and indifferent, but she has her own scars inside and out…
Will Blu and Creed fall for one another? Or will they fail to bring peace and instead bring upon war between their kinds?

Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard
Gabriel Emerson is a well respected Dante specialist and professor in the University of Toronto. He barely tolerates his students, but his good looks make up for it, for his female students anyway. However, he wasn't the greatest child when he was younger, he has a troubled past that he'd rather forget. Then, Julia Mitchell enrolls as his graduate student. He is attracted to the sweet and innocent Julia, and she also feels familiar to him... as if he was his Beatrice.
When I first saw this book on the shelves, I concluded that it was another version of Fifty Shades of Grey. They have many similar things. A hot, troubled male that instantly becomes attracted to a sweet, innocent female. However, after that, they pretty much went their own separate plots. Gabriel's Inferno does not revolve around the guy being controlling when it comes to sex, it revolves around Gabriel, a guy with a troubled past who believes he does not deserve redemption. He believes that he does not have a soul and that he will never find light. Julia is there to help him realize that he deserves to be loved and that he can find the light.
The book is also in third person POV. I liked the book and it was a quick read. Gabriel starts off as a jerk, but as the novel progresses, you'll definitely begin to like him. You'll also love Gabriel's family.
The verdict: For those who thought that this was another Fifty Shades of Grey series, stop thinking that! I thought that and when I finally read the book, I was totally surprised to find them so different. If you like Fifty Shades of Grey, then you'll love this book too. If you hated Fifty Shades of Grey, you might find this a good read.
The next book in the series is Gabriel’s Rapture and I believe it’s out now!

Lethal Rider by Larissa Ione
Lethal Rider is the third novel in the Lords of Deliverance series by Larissa Ione. The Lords of Deliverance series is a spinoff of Ione’s Demonica series. It focuses on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The first book was about Ares, the second was about Limos, and now it’s Thanatos’ story.
Thanatos has been celibate for thousands of years because he is the most deadly of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In Limos’ book, Thanatos meets Regan Cooper, a demon-slayer that was tasked with seducing Thanatos so that she could bear his child. Regan succeeded, but Thanatos believes that Regan forced him to have sex with her.
Thanatos’ story is definitely a must read! He’s a great character and he has great chemistry with Regan. Thanatos has always wanted to have his own family, but has always feared that he cannot have it. Then, Regan comes along and changes everything.
The book definitely exceeded my expectations because I’ve always thought that Thanatos was too grumpy to be a great lead character, and I was definitely wrong. Good thing I decided to read it! I recommend that readers read the series in order so that you can enjoy it more! Ares, Limos, and Thanatos all have great stories and the next book is going to be Reseph’s!

Intertwined Series by Gena Showalter
The first time I saw the first book of this series online, I literally ran to the bookstore. I don’t know why, but I just had a feeling that this was going to be a great series. I love Gena Showalter’s books and they never disappoint. This is her YA series, but it’s kind of darker and edgier than other YA books involving vampires and werewolves that I’ve read. It’s not like a horror story or anything, it’s just that the plot and the characters are more… mature.
Aden Stone has always heard voices in his head. His parents thought he was crazy. His doctors thought he was crazy. Other crazy patients thought he was crazy. Aden wasn’t crazy. He literally has 4 human souls in his body. One can time travel. One can raise the dead. One can possess another human. One can tell the future. That sounds cool right? It’s not. Because of these souls, Aden has been transferred to different juvies and mental institutions. He’s been having visions of a beautiful girl, the girl who will either save him or kill him.
The series does have its flaws, but I thought the Aden’s story was an original one. He’s this kid who stopped believing that anyone will ever take him seriously and the kid that will forever remember that his parents ditched him when he was young. When I first started the series, I was confused because of the summary on the cover…and those that read it will understand this. Overall, the series is a good one and it’s pretty easy to read even if they’re like 600 pages long because the books are small. The only downside is that the next book doesn’t release until 2013, so yeah long wait. New readers have a lot of time to catch up.
The books so far are: Intertwined, Unraveled, and Twisted. The 4th book is probably the last one focusing on Aden and Gena will make a spinoff series out of this.

Caster Chronicles series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
I started reading this series when it was first released on Dec. 1, 2009. I admit that I only read the book because I was intrigued by its cover (Yeah, yeah never judge a book by its cover). Anyways, the series brings about new ideas and a whole new world. A world filled with Casters.
Ethan Wate is the main protagonist in the story and the series is in his POV so far… (there might be a change soon). He has been counting the days until he can finally leave his town Gatlin. However, Ethan’s been dreaming about a girl he has never met…and no, it’s not that kind of dream… His mother died and his father has never been the same since. He’s locked himself in his office trying to write and pretty much dead to the world. Ethan’s best friend is Link and they’re always together.
Lena Duchannes is the new girl in town. She just moved in to the Ravenwood plantation… the scariest house in town. No one ever goes there, but they always talk about the owner, Macon. Lena is instantly hated by most of her classmates (the popular ones) and she’s struggling to control her powers. Then suddenly, Ethan is forced to choose: be a part of Lena’s world or stay in his world.
Will Ethan and Lena be able to stay together?
There are currently 3 books in the series: Beautiful Creatures, Beautiful Darkness, and Beautiful Chaos.
There’s a short story between books 2 & 3 called Dream Dark (Link’s POV).
The next and possibly last book in the series is Beautiful Redemption and it’s not releasing until October 23, 2012.
August 7!
